Fifteen years in the body jewellery industry teaches you a lot. Most of it comes from watching things go wrong.

We've seen it all. The infected helix that never quite healed. The navel piercing that rejected after months of trying. The person who spent years thinking their body just didn't take piercings well, when really it was the jewellery the whole time.

And we've watched it get worse online. Someone shares a horror story and the replies flood in: "I used cheap jewellery and I was fine." That's survivorship bias, and in the piercing world it causes real harm. The people who weren't fine aren't posting about it. They're just dealing with scarring, irritation bumps, and piercings they gave up on.
